Communities and Neighbors

...
Two CMP transmission lines travel past Winslow Park and Recreation.

Central Maine Power (CMP) is working with communities and reaching out to neighbors along the Section 1 project to ensure that our construction activities are performed safely and with minimal disruption to their daily lives, neighborhoods, the environment, and wildlife.

Access to the Corridor

We only will be working within the established corridor. Wherever possible, crews will be accessing the corridor from main roads or previously established access points. However, there are some locations where this is not possible due to wetlands or other barriers. Where necessary, CMP land agents from our Energy Land Management department will be talking to adjacent landowners to get permission to use their driveways or roads to access the corridor.

Outages

No outages affecting customers are planned for this project. By building the new line offset from the existing energized line, a prolonged outage of the existing line will not be necessary.

Public Roads and Safety

Road traffic may be down to one lane at times to ensure the safety of our workers. Safety is our priority. Please be mindful of flaggers as they work to provide you and our crews with safe clearances.

Work Hours and Noise

Work activity periods will comply with town ordinances. Typical construction noise will occur. Abutters may hear heavy equipment (bucket trucks, cranes, and excavators) during construction activities.
