The Section 1 Rebuild Project is designed to avoid or minimize natural resource impacts to wetlands to the extent practicable, including all equipment access ways. CMP has applied for all required federal, state, and municipal permits and anticipates receiving all approvals by early 2025. Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity; Non-Wire Alternatives Review:
Maine General Permit through the Pre-Construction Notification review process. Application submitted July 18, 2024. Anticipated approval in early 2025.
Natural Resource Protection Act Permit-By-Rule Application submitted on August 2, 2024. Approved on August 14, 2024.
Conditional Use Permit application reviewed and approved by the Augusta Planning Board on October 1, 2024.
Shoreland Zone Permit application reviewed and approved by the Vassalboro Planning Board on September 3, 2024. A copy of the meeting minutes signifying the Planning Board’s approval was given to CMP on October 9, 2024.
Shoreland Zone and Flood Hazard Development Permit application reviewed and approved by the Winslow Planning Board on September 18, 2024. The Planning Board deemed no permit required for the project but agreed and approved it is in compliance with all existing ordinances. Signed meeting minutes signifying Planning Board approval is to be provided to CMP by the Planning Board.
Permits from the MDOT to allow CMP to create access roads off the main road for the construction equipment to access the line.
